The enterprise

CLAI boasts of sixty years of participatory management, a unique example in European agribusiness, where Cooperation is at the heart of success.

CLAI s.c.a. (Cooperativa Lavoratori Agricoli Imolesi) is an Italian cooperative founded in 1962 to provide entrepreneurial response to the needs of breeders and farmers in the Imola area during the origin of the "Italian miracle."

On the strength of the intergenerational pact that has guided the Cooperative over time, three generations later, with passion and foresight, the women and men of CLAI continue to nurture a 100% Italian meat supply chain and to constantly improve their methods, mindful of animal welfare and the environment, bringing the best of craftsmanship, quality and flavor to tables around the world.

We cultivate values to produce goodness

CLAI has operated since its beginnings in both the cured meats sector, with a particular specialization in the salami segment, and in fresh beef and pork. Over the years, CLAI has implemented a path of expansion of its business, to present itself to all intents and purposes on the market as a food company, thanks to the acquisition of the historic Zuarina ham factory, renowned for the quality and sweetness of its Parma hams, and the incorporation in 2019 of Cooperativa Faggiola, a typical expression of Tuscan-Romagna dairy craftsmanship.

The company's products can be found in
Italy in all sales channels and abroad in various world markets.

A strong sense of community

CLAI makes its very close link between people and territory one of its major distinguishing features, both by making its supply chain present to consumers through the "Butcher Shops of Contadino", local points of sale of excellence, and by actively engaging in the support of projects and initiatives that help communities and that take concrete form in the areas of sports, culture, solidarity and the enhancement of people, territory and the environment.
